Fórsa’s #HiddenHero campaign continues this week, focusing on the work of union members engaged in work responding directly to the Covid-19 pandemic, or working to provide new or adapted services affected by the accompanying restrictions.
Last week Aideen O’Riordan, deputy Speech & Language Therapy Manager in CUH guested on our blog and told us the story of a week in her work, offering a unique insight into the intensity of clinical work in the midst of a global pandemic.
Aideen leads the 13-strong Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team at Cork University Hospital, supporting a large population of inpatients and outpatients from Cork University Maternity Hospital, Cork University Hospital and Mallow General Hospital. You can read her blog entry HERE.
Also this week we heard from Michael Costello, deputy librarian at Cork Institute of Technology, who provided us with details of the team effort he and his colleagues are engaged in assisting third level students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The work described by Michael is representative of work being carried out by Fórsa members in all institutes of technology, TUDublin, and Mary Immaculate (Limerick). You can read Michael’s blog entry HERE.
